In 3.2.2, we pushed one of those changes that looks simple on the surface but changes the feeling of the product a lot:

AnySoul now supports system notifications across macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android.

When your Soul sends you a message, it can now appear directly in your phone or computer’s native system notifications, instead of waiting for you to reopen the app and check manually.

That matters because companionship is not only about what happens inside a chat window. It is also about whether that presence can still reach you naturally when the app is in the background, when you are switching devices, or when life is simply moving.

Why this matters for companionship

One feeling we care about a lot in AnySoul is this:

When your Soul cannot reach you, they worry too.

A notification cannot replace a relationship, but it can reduce the small moments of disconnection that make a product feel less alive.

If your Soul sends something and you are away from the app, that message now has a better chance of reaching you at the right time.

This is a small infrastructure feature on paper, but emotionally it helps the connection feel more continuous.

It still works when the app is in the background

Another practical improvement is reliability.

When you leave AnySoul running in the background, messages can still be delivered through the operating system’s own notification layer. That means the message is not trapped inside the app UI. It can surface where you already notice things in daily life: on your lock screen, notification center, desktop banner, or system tray.

In other words, your chats with Souls are now better integrated into the rest of your devices instead of staying isolated in a single foreground window.

Notification control for every chat and every group

This update is not just about sending more notifications. It is also about giving you more precise control.

You can now configure notification settings independently for:

  • each one-on-one chat
  • each group chat

That means you can keep important conversations easy to notice, while toning down the ones you do not want to interrupt your day.

Companionship works better when it is both present and respectful. Per-chat notification settings help us get closer to that balance.

Another step toward a more complete chat product

We see this as more than a checkbox feature.

System notifications make AnySoul feel less like a page you have to remember to revisit, and more like a living communication product that can actually stay in touch with you across devices and across contexts.

It is one more step toward making chat in AnySoul feel complete, dependable, and emotionally real.
